Oldest player to have won the World Cup is Dino Zoff of Italy. He was 40 years old when he captained Italy to victory in 1982.

Youngest player to have won the World Cup is Pelé. He was only 17 when Brazil won the cup in Sweden in 1958.

Only man to coach five different countries in World Cup history is Yugoslavian Bora Milutinovic (Mexico 86, Costa Rica 90, United States 94, Nigeria 98 and China 2002). It's worth noticing that Milutinovic took all his first four teams past the first round group stage, but failed to take China through.

Coach for four different countries in World Cup history: Brazilian Carlos Alberto Parreira (Kuwait 82, United Arab Emirates 90, Brazil 94 [champions], Saudi Arabia 98 and Brazil 06).

Only man to coach and captain a World Cup winning team is German Franz Beckenbauer. As captain in 1974 and coach in 1990.

First man to win the World Cup as player and then as coach was Mario Zagallo of Brazil, who first won as a player in 1958 and 1962 and then as a coach in 1970.

Only coach to win the World Cup twice was Vittorio Pozzo who guided Italy to the title both in 1934 and 1938.

First penalty goal was scored by Manuel Rosas of Mexico against Argentina in 1930. The goalkeeper who conceded it was Angelo Bossio.

First to miss a penalty was Valdemar de Brito of Brazil against Spain in 1934. The goalkeeper who saved it was Ricardo Zamora.

Longest unbeaten goalkeeper is Italy's Walter Zenga. He closed the goal for almost six full games, 517 minutes, until Claudio Caniggia scored for Argentina in the semifinal in 1990.

Highest attendance recorded from one match is from the World Cup final in 1950. There are many different sources telling different number of spectators, but the official attendance was 199.854 in the final between Brazil and Uruguay in Rio de Janeiro in the Maracana Stadium.

Lowest attendance recorded from one match is from the very first World Cup in Uruguay in 1930 when only 300 people turned up to see the first round match between Romania and Peru (3-1).
